EDGINGTON, Ill. – Jake Flater had three hits, including two triples, three RBI and scored three runs in Rockridge’s 16-5 rout of visiting Kewanee on Wednesday.

Brandon DeKeyrel added two hits, including a double and two RBI for the Rockets.

L-M finishes second at Mepo

MEDIAPOLIS, Iowa – Louisa-Muscatine fell just short of the girls’ team title at Mediapolis on Tuesday.

The Falcons were runners-up to the host school, Mediapolis,  158-138, in track action.

L-M freshman Brett Guerra     set a new school record in the 3,000- meter run to win the event in 11 minutes, 21 seconds. Guerra also won the 800 and finished second in the 1,500.

Also winning for the Falcons were the 4x800 relay, made up of Bailie Bonnichsen, Kalynn Stecher, Megan Guldenpfennig and Courtney Van DeMaat and Bonnichsen in the 400 meter hurdles.

Belles finish in middle at meet

WEST LIBERTY, Iowa – Host school West Liberty finished in the middle of the pack Tuesday during its own track invitational.

The Belles scored 45.5 points to finish seventh in the 14-team meet. Mount Vernon-Lisbon ran away with the title with a team score of 173 points.

West Liberty, coached by Dennis Riley, tallied only one titlist in Taylor Feldman, who claimed the discus with a throw of 118 feet, 8 inches.

The Belles also had a pair of runner-up finishes.

Area school Wilton, Durant-Bennett and Columbus Community finished ninth, 11th and 14th, respectively.
