DURANT, Iowa — After Louisa-Muscatine tied the score at 1-all, Durant broke through with three runs in the sixth inning to take a

4-1 softball victory on Friday night.

Allison Ralfs earned the win on the mound while Kassie Krummel came in for the save for the Wildcats.

Both teams managed only five hits in the game.

Mediapolis rallies by Wapello

WAPELLO, Iowa —Mediapolis rallied from a 4-1 deficit for eight runs in the fifth inning to top the Wapello softball team, 9-4, on Friday night.

Erika Massner drove in three of the Arrows’ runs with two hits.

Wapello (2-5, 1-2 SEISC) travels to the Cedar Rapids Jefferson tournament today.

Lafayette double lifts Wapello

WAPELLO, Iowa — Jacob Lafayette’s two-out, two-run double in the fifth inning lifted Wapello to a 6-4 win in the opener of a doubleheader with Southeast Iowa Super Conference foe Pekin on Friday.

Pekin came back to blank the Indians, 6-0, in the nightcap for the conference split.

Colton Stephens struck out nine and walked five while giving up only two earned runs in the first-game victory.

Logan Lanz hit a solo home run in the fourth that tied it before Lafayette came through to drive in the winning runs.

WMU sweeps Columbus

COLUMBUS JCT, Iowa —Winfield-Mt. Union swept into Columbus and swept a baseball doubleheader on Friday.

The Wolves topped the Wildcats, 18-3, and 12-5.

WMU had a big 11-run inning in the fifth of the first game to end the contest early and scored consistently throughout in the nightcap to complete the sweep.

L-M swept by Mediapolis

LETTS, Iowa — Mediapolis’ baseball team made it a sweep of Louisa-Muscatine on Friday night.

The Tigers managed big innings in both games in order to take 8-3, 14-11 victories over the Falcons.

Despite out-hitting Mediapolis in the second game, L-M committed seven errors that proved costly.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — No. 15 Iowa City Regina blanked the Durant-Bennett softball team,

4-0, on Thursday night.

The Regals’ pitcher scattered six hits while their offense came up with 11 hits against Kassie Krummel.

The Wilcats will travel to the Center Point-Urbana tournament today.
