MUSCATINE, Iowa – University of Iowa head men’s basketball coach Todd Lickliter spoke briefly to those who attended the Hawkeye-Bridgestone Bandag Round Ball Round-up Tuesday afternoon at Muscatine High School.

In his short speech to the campers, Lickliter stressed the importance of teamwork.

“The most enjoyable part of basketball is working together,” Lickliter said. “There are five people on the floor all of the time and I think that’s a lot of fun.”

Aiding teammates in every situation is key, according to Lickliter.

“Do the things to help your teammates,” Lickliter said. “Encourage people to be a good teammate. So often you hear who scores all the points, but there are so many other things that go into it. Everyone plays a role, even those who don’t start.

“All of these things are important and go into making a team.”

University of Iowa basketball players helped with the camp which was held in the Muscatine High School gym and ended on Tuesday.
