WAPELLO, Iowa – Chase Moser and his brother Bennett led the Wapello boys cross country team to a state berth Monday at Indian Hills Golf Course.

The two finished in the top 10 to help the Indians place second and clinch a team spot in the state meet at Fort Dodge on Saturday.

Chase Moser was the individual runner-up, finishing in 16 minutes, 55 seconds. He was nine seconds behind Iowa Mennonite’s Bill Spencer.

IMS won the team title with 44 points. Wapello scored 94 points, while the last state qualifier was Lone Tree with 106 points.

Bennett Moser was sixth in 17:07.

In the girls’ race, Wapello’s Lorin Fisher qualified as an individual. Fisher crossed the finish line in 17:19 – good for seventh overall.
