Muscatine city bowling tourney draws to a close

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The 2009 Muscatine City Bowling Tournament came to a conclusion Sunday, ending a week-long run at Plamor Lanes.

In addition to crowning champions in singles, doubles, team and all-events in two divisions for both men and women, is the qualifier to determine the participants for the annual city rolloffs on March 7-8 at Plamor Lanes.

The top 16 scratch all-event bowlers in three men’s and women’s divisions will vie to put their names beside the elite Muscatine bowlers who have won titles since the competition began in 1964.

This year’s men’s and women’s senior division tournament will be held on Saturday, March 7. The men’s and women’s Divisions I and II competitions will be on Sunday, March 8.

This year’s city tournament produced 300 games by Mike McClaflin and Lorn Crawford. Both came in the team event.
