WEST BRANCH, Iowa — Eugene Stewart Moore, 78, formerly of West Branch, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

Private family burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery, Iowa City.

Eugene was born March 29, 1931, in Iowa City, the son of Robert Lee and Jeannette Mae Dykstra Moore.

He most recently had been employed with Chuck Smith Auto Body in Iowa City.

He was a U.S. Army veteran having served as a Military Policeman during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the VFW.

Survivors include one son, Fred (Diana) Moore of West Branch; a brother, Vance (Susan) Moore of Iowa City; two grandchildren, Gary and Cheyenne, and one great grandson, Gage.
