ALEDO, Ill. — Olive B. Gilmore, 103, Joy, died Thursday Nov. 12, 2009, at Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo.
Memorials may be left to Joy United Methodist Church, Mercer County Home Health Care or Mercer County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Gilmore was born April 6, 1906, in Petersville, Ill., a daughter of J. Watson and Alice Runbom Pulliam. She graduated from Joy High School in 1924 and married Don W. Gilmore Oct. 10, 1924, in Muscatine, Iowa. He died Sept. 16, 1981.
She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of the family farm.
She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Mercer County Quilters Club, was an avid card player being a member of T.E.A. Card Club.
She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter and she enjoyed flower gardening.
She is survived by three daughters, Roberta Harris Colburn of Bettendorf, Iowa, Audrey Bryant of Joy, Cheryl Achey and husband, Keith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four grandchildren and two sisters.
