MUSCATINE, Iowa — Daisy M. Durand, 93, Muscatine, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine. 

Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in memory of Daisy.  Online condolences may be left at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com

Mrs. Durand was born Aug. 18, 1915, in Chicago, the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth (Marten) Todoroff.  She married Harry W. Durand April 23, 1938, in Chicago. 

She had attended college at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.  Early in her career she worked as a musician, playing organ and singing in a variety of church music programs and later was a homemaker. 

She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church since 1964, where she served on the Jackson Committee. 

She enjoyed music, reading, socializing with many people and encouraging everyone she met.

She will be deeply missed by her son, David Alan Durand and wife, Barbara of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Cheryl Glasser, Steven Durand and Brian Durand; six great-grandchildren, Michael, Rachel, Abigail, Tate, Ryah and C.J.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry and a brother, Albert Todoroff.
