Memorial service: 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, Asbury United Methodist Church, Burlington
MUSCATINE, Iowa — Catherine Louise Hunter, 94, of Muscatine, formerly of Burlington, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Lutheran Homes in Muscatine.
The Rev. Jerry Rigdon will officiate services. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Asbury United Methodist Church and Hope Haven.

She was born July 16, 1915, in Burlington, the daughter of Frederick and Anna Froid Richter.
She married Wilbur LaVerne Hunter in Burlington on Oct. 21, 1934. He died in September 1978.
She worked for several years at C&E’s in Burlington.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and its Mary Martha Circle.
She was an excellent cook, loved to sew and enjoyed fishing.
While at the care center, where she was known as “the bead lady,” she made and gave away bracelets.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Sandra) Hunter of Fort Madison, LaMonte (Rennie) Hunter of Woodville, Texas, Ronald (Bea) Hunter of Greeley, Colo.; one daughter, Sherry (David) Cottrell of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
