LETTS, Iowa —  Lanette Deanna Peters, 63, of Letts, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Unity Hospital.

The Rev. Steve Shaw of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church will officiate.  Bearers will be Ryan Peters, Chrystopher Peters, Elizabeth Erickson, Brian Colburn, Troy Gardner, and Richard Wahalen.  Burial will be at Wagner Cemetery, Letts.

Mrs. Peters was born Sept. 23, 1945, in Muscatine, the daughter of Elmer H. and Gertrude Stein Carlson.  She married John W. Peters on Oct. 31, 1964, in Davenport.

She received her registered nursing degree in 1986, and worked in several hospitals and nursing homes during her career.

She was a life long member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Her hobbies included reading and gardening.  She loved spending time with her family, friends, and many grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, John W. Peters of Letts; two sons, John T. “Tom” Peters and wife, Kay, of Muscatine, and Michael W. Peters and wife, Kerrie, of Muscatine; a daughter, Larissa Peters-Erickson and husband, Mark, of Grandview; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan, Sarah, Alysha, Danyelle, Chystopher, Kelsey, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Abagail, Andrew, and Charlie; three great-grandchildren, Kailey, Wyatt, and C.J.; three sisters, Vickie Colburn and husband, Bruce of Letts, Colleen O’Conner and husband, Tim of Muscatine, and Jackie Peck and husband, Sam, of Michigan; and a nephew, Steven Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
