MUSCATINE, Iowa – Kathryn Marie Fuegen Hines, 47, of Muscatine, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Honorary bearers will be Pam Brown, Judy Bosten, Alexa Wojtecki, Deb Weikert, Joan Voss, and Joan Fuegen.  A luncheon will be held in Gannon Hall immediately following the mass.

Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics and Camp Courageous. 

 Mrs. Hines was born Jan. 10, 1962, in Muscatine, the daughter of Verne and Joan Merrill Fuegen. 

She was united in marriage to John Hines Oct. 1, 1983, at St. Mathias Church in Muscatine.

She was a member of Ss Mary and Mathias Parish.

She was employed by HON Industries for 24 years.

She was an avid camper with her family and good friends. 

She dearly loved quilting with her sewing group, the “Goddesses.”  She also loved to play games and was always very competitive.

She is survived by her husband John “Chubber” Hines of Muscatine; a son, Lucas and a daughter, Gretchen both at home; three brothers, Tim Fuegen and wife Denise of Muscatine, Jeff Fuegen and wife Candice of Muscatine, and Matt Fuegen of Kansas City, Kan.; a sister, Beth Hanna and husband, John of Iowa City; and her parents, Verne and Joan Fuegen of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
