WEST LIBERTY, Iowa — Otto H. Nealson, 91, of West Liberty, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is assisting the family.
Mr. Nealson was born June 11, 1917, in Springdale, the son of Neal and Christina (Aaholm) Nealson. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Lucille Keith on June 13, 1941. He was a legislator in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1974-76 and a former mayor of West Liberty.
He enjoyed working as a farmer, auctioneer, real estate broker, and owned and operated Liberty Lanes from 1965-75. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge.
Memorial donations may be directed to the West Liberty Rescue Unit or the Iowa City Hospice.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lucille; children, Judy (Buck Hilton) Nealson of West Liberty, Ken (Molly) Nealson of Los Angeles, Calif.; Christina (Tom Wolf) Nealson of Mancos, Colo.; and Ed (Julie) Nealson of West Liberty; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, two brothers, and one grandchild.
