HOUSTON, Texas — Dorothy Mae Johnson McKeever passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, in Houston.
Mrs. McKeever was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Atalissa, Iowa, the daughter of James and Orpha Johnson. She married Clint McKeever on June 29, 1950. He died on July 24, 2004.
She will lay to rest alongside her husband and son, Rick. A gathering for family and friends will be held after the service at the farm of Jack and JoAnn Broders, 1846 Iron City Ave., Nichols, Iowa, 563-263-1024.
During their 54 years of marriage, she and her husband lived in Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Tennessee, Kansas and finally Texas, where they made many friends who still have them in their hearts.
She liked pink everything. Her family would like any memorials to be living pink flowers, trees or shrubs, which they plan to plant in their favorite Iowa garden next to the river.
She is survived by her daughter, Viki McKeever Collier; her best friend and grandson, Bradley Clint Collier, who lived across the street in Houston, for the past 16 years; her sisters, Lois Collier and Wilma Hartman of Iowa; and a brother, Roy Johnson of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Rick.
