FREDONIA, Iowa — Anna Hamilton, 99, of Fredonia, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction.

The Rev. Mike McAfee of the Victory Christian Center will officiate.  Casketbearers will be Kevin Clevenger, Mitch Hamilton, Brian Watson, Nick Roland, Dusty Buffington and Mike McVey. Honorary casketbearers will be Marvin Hamilton, Will Roland, Dan McVey, Spencer McVey, Corey Clevenger and Sherry Buffington. 

Burial will be at Columbus City Cemetery. 

Memorials can be directed to the Washington County Hospice and the Colonial Manor Care Center in her name.

Mrs. Hamilton was born Feb. 26, 1910, in Keswick, the daughter of Samuel and Mary Ellen (Stowell) Wolford. 

She graduated from high school in Cainsville, Mo., in 1926. 

She married Raymond Leonard Hamilton Dec. 7, 1935,  in Pleasanton. 

She and her husband owned Hamilton's Station and Café in Columbus Junction for 20 years. 

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking and especially, spending time with her family.                                                             

She will be dearly missed by her children, Joan Watson of Fredonia and Jerry Hamilton and wife, Charlotte of Letts; seven grandchildren,  Sherry Buffington of Columbus Junction, Kevin Clevenger and wife, Deanna of Letts, Brian Watson and wife, Wendy of Columbus Junction, Kim Johnson and husband, Wally of Momencee, Ill., Mitch Hamilton and wife, Janet of New Boston, Ill., Lesa Peters and husband, Rick of Grinnell, and Tracy McVey and husband, Mike of Wellman; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond “Cotton” Hamilton in September 1977; five brothers and two sisters.
