WATERLOO, Iowa —Thomas A. “Tom” Cannon, 56, died Friday, March 27, of cancer at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He was surrounded by people who loved him.
A service was held this morning at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haley, John and Bridget Cannon Trust fund, in care of Barbara Cannon.
Mr. Cannon was born Feb. 15, 1953, in Peoria, Ill., the son of John and Betty (Bertles) Cannon. He married Barbara Jean Duggan on April 17, 1993, in Waterloo.
He graduated from Muscatine High School, and the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in general studies.
He was the lead singer in Baby Moon and the Whitewalls. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He worked as the service manager for Nelson & Hagy Inc.
He was a very loving person to his wife, children, brothers, sisters, all in-laws and his many friends.
He was also a huge, lifelong fan of Chicago Cubs baseball and Chicago Bears football.
He is survived by his wife; a son, John, at home; two daughters, Haley and Bridget, both at home; two brothers, Kevin (Debbie) Cannon of Muscatine and Pat (Sue) Cannon of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters-Chris (Curt) Donaldson of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mary Ann (Tom) Kyllo of Plymouth, Minn., and Maureen Cannon of Bloomington, Minn.
