Memorial service:  10:30 a.m., Monday, April 13, the Columbus Junction Presbyterian Church. 

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa — Richard C. Pugh, 84, of Columbus Junction, died Friday morning, April 10, 2009 at Colonial Manor, Columbus Junction following an extended illness.

Masonic Rites will be conducted prior to the memorial service at 9:30 a.m.

Richard Calvin Pugh was born Jan. 30, 1925 in Colum-bus Junction the son of Lewis and Sclenia (Peters) Pugh.

He graduated from Columbus High School in 1943 and served with Army in the European Theater during WWII.  Dick spent 50 years in automobile sales retiring in 1999. 

He was very active in the community and civic organizations.  He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Columbus City Masonic Lodge, Davenport Consistory where he became a 33  Mason and KAABA Shrine. 

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Frances; sons, Mike Pugh, Dave (Candy) Pugh  and Mark (Pam) Pugh, all of Columbus Junction; brothers, Art Pugh and Jack Pugh, both of Columbus Junction; sister, Doris Schafer of Tempe, Ariz.

Also surviving are six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marian Cecil.
