WILTON, Iowa —James F. “Jim” Lowry, 81, of Wilton, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Unity Health Systems Hospital, Muscatine.
The Rev. Tom Zeleny will officiate.
Honorary casketbearers will be his grandsons.
Interment will be at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport.
A memorial has been established in his memory.

Mr. Lowry was born April 20, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Clarence and Bessie (Shwarms) Lowry.
He married Mary G. Rodenhouse Oct. 30, 1948, in Upper Alton, Ill.
He retired in 1984 from International Harvester, Moline, Ill.
His hobby was restoring antique cars. He and Mary were former members of the Studebaker club.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Lowry of Wilton; six daughters: Kathryn Detlefs and husband, James of Bettendorf, Linda Balser and husband, Sam of Timberville, Va., Diane Burrows of Norwalk, Theresa Cantwell and husband, Larry of Nevada, Beverly Gerard of Marengo and Mary Pratt and husband, Charles of Ida Grove; two sons, James Michael Lowry of Harrisonburg, Va., Mark Lowry and wife, Debbie of Wheatland; 27 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and a brother, Jack Lowry and wife, Patty of Bettendorf.
He was preceded in death by parents; a son, Richard Lowry in 1984; a brother, Robert Lowry; an infant grandchild and two infant great-grandchildren.
