Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 22, funeral homeUSCATINE, Iowa — June L. Keiser, 85, of Muscatine, died on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at her home.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Johnny Tompkins, Ivan Tompkins, Fred Goff, Kevin VanDine, Terry Ziegenhorn and Paul Tompkins, Jr.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Herbert Briteher, Lloyd Whitlow, Steve Bras, Brad Ziegenhorn and Brandon Ziegenhorn.
Following the interment there will be a time of food and fellowship at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room.
A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in June’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Keiser family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.
June Leona Tompkins was born on June 1, 1924, in Muscatine, the daughter of Charles William Raymond and Myrtle (Wyant) Lance. She was united in marriage to Earl Keiser.
She was homemaker and a school cook. She was also a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church of Muscatine and a six-year member of the Salvation Army.
She enjoyed creating crafts, fishing and bird watching.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Earlene (Steven) Anderson of Bluegrass; four grandchildren, Brandon Ziegenhorn, Brad Ziegenhorn, Ashley Ledford and Lindsey Ledford; one great-grandchild, Sarah Ziegenhorn; one sister, Izora Johnson; and one brother Paul Tompkins.
June was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Lula and Norma; and seven brothers, John, Rufus, Francis, Michael, Raymond, Millicent and Charles.
