MUSCATINE, Iowa – Christie Anne Ortega, 37, of Muscatine, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008.
Rev. Brian Saunders of the Our Savior Lutheran Church will officiate the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Kim ‘BB2’ Estabrook Courtois, Brandy ‘BB3’ Griffin Fortney, Kelly ‘Rummy’ Williams, Shane ‘Pony’ Kirk, Bobbie ‘BB4’ Thumann, Nina Becerra and Tiffany ‘Red’ Beck.

Ms. Ortega was born Dec. 25, 1970, at Irwin Army Hospital at Fort Riley, Kan., the daughter of Terry R. and Connie M. (Frank) Mitchell. She was baptized Feb. 7, 1971, at St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, Janesville, Wis.
She acheived her GED from Peru State College in Peru, Neb., in 1990, and received her nurses aide certificate from Muscatine Community College in 2001; medication aide certificate from Scott Community College in 2002. She attended Capri College in Davenport from 2002-03.
She had worked for Muscatine Care Center and was employed at Allsteel Components.
She enjoyed collecting antiques, decorating and going to the movies.
Survivors include three sons, Devin D. Hansen, Darian D. Hansen, and Dillon D. Hansen, all of Muscatine; her parents, Terry and Connie Mitchell of Muscatine; one brother, Terry R. Mitchell Jr. of Sacramento, Calif.; and one sister, Jennifer Mitchell of Highlands Ranch, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her fiancée, Andrew Edkin, and both her paternal and maternal grandparents.
