Memorial service: 3 p.m. Saturday, July 25, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 701 Lake Park Blvd., Muscatine.

MUSCATINE, Iowa — Wanda Marie Honts, 78, Muscatine, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hos-pital following an illness.

A luncheon reception will be held at 4 p.m. at The Rendezvous, 3127 Lucas St., Muscatine, following the service.

Flowers and memorials may be sent in care of her daughter, Cathy at 1820 McClellan St., Muscatine, IA 52761.

Mrs. Honts was born July 23, 1930, the daughter of Lester “Jim” and Lillian (Figgins) Eis at the Eis House near Pleasant Prairie in rural Muscatine County.  She attended Melpine School. 

She married Richard L. Honts Nov. 16, 1953. 

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with family and friends.

She worked at Celon and then was a bookkeeper at Phillips Brothers for more than 20 years. 

She was a member of the Muscatine Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Richard; a son, Marvin and wife, Susan of Muscatine; a daughter, Cathy Kelley of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Maureen, Stephanie and Melanie and three great-grandchildren, Kelley, Kathryn and Kenadee; a brother, Earl Eis and wife, Vera of Davenport; four sisters, Betty VanWey of Muscatine, Grace Honts and husband, Robert of Muscatine, Lorraine Weiland of Sno-homish, Wash., and Nancy Ripperger and husband, Alan of Blue Grass; stepbrother, Marvin Franklin and wife, Dorothy of Muscatine; three stepsisters, Maxine Wilson, Norma Faulkner and Marilyn McCleary, all of Muscatine; brothers-in-law, Donald Honts and wife, Diane of Fruitland and Frank Honts of Muscatine; sisters-in-law Donna Mae Grace, Carolyn Collins and Phyllis Honts, all of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Alfred “Bud” Franklin; brothers, Walter Eis, Lester Eis and Robert Eis; stepbrother, Glenn Franklin and stepsister, Mona Nichols; and brothers-in-law, Lynn Honts and Thomas Honts.
