SUMMITVILLE, Tenn. — Dorothy Jean Latimer, 76, passed away Thursday in Summitville. 

Burial was at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Latimer was born Nov. 13, 1932, in Summitville, the daughter of Buford Whitman and Nellie Jo Travis Whitman. 

She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was known for her love of people. 

She was a member of Summitville United Methodist Church where she was very active. 

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Wayne Latimer and wife, Jo Ann of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Dennis Latimer and wife, Lynn of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Stephanie McCrary, Stacy Seputis and husband, Chuck, Daniel Latimer and Lisa Mullenhauer and husband, Jared; and five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Brody McCrary, Tristan Seputis, and Avari and Kiera Mullenhauer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of more than 60 years, Kenneth M. Latimer, who passed away Dec. 12, 2007; and a sister, Berleen Prater.
