MUSCATINE, Iowa — Irene Jackson, 95, Muscatine, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at Lutheran Homes in Muscatine.

The Rev. Dr. Kenneth W. Kline, Chaplain of Genesis Hospice, will officiate. t

Casketbearers will be Steve Meyer, Douglas Hinkhouse, Mike Rock, Randy Lueth, Brian Lueth, Gary Hepker, Scott Lueth, Kip Bunn and Tim Bunn. 

Honorary casketbearers will be Kent Keller and Robert Lueth. 

Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Moose Lodge in Muscatine.

Mrs. Jackson was born Nov. 5, 1913, in Jeffers, Minn., the daughter of James H. and Nellie M. (Hollenbeck) McMichael.  She married Ted Hughes in August of 1937.

 She worked for Heinz Inc. for 29 years as a timekeeper and farmed in the Atalissa area for 10 years.

She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose. 

She loved doing all sorts of handworking and crafts such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery.  She also enjoyed playing cards, watching NASCAR racing and the Iowa Hawkeyes football games.

 She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Evelyn Hinkhouse of Atalissa; a brother, Vernon McMichael and wife, Audrey of Tampa Fla.; a son-in-law, Kent Keller; 10 grandchildren, Kay Meyer and husband, Steve, Douglas Hinkhouse, Karen Rock and husband, Mike, Randy Lueth, Brian Lueth, Lori Hepker and husband, Gary, Scott Lueth, Angie Kirk, Kip Bunn and Tim Bunn; 24 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Carl Hughes; a daughter, Janet Keller; two sisters, Avis Holdeman and Ionne Yedlik; a brother, Luther McMichael and a son-in-law, Guy Hinkhouse.
