MUSCATINE, Iowa — William Duval, 86, Muscatine, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine. 

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Trinity Episcopal Church. 

His cremains will be placed in the columbarium at Trinity Episcopal Church. 

Memorials may be directed to Trinity Episcopal Church.

Mr. Duval, was born June 29, 1923, in Bolivar, Mo., the son of William Duval, Sr. and Marie B. (Townsend) Duval. He married Barbara L. MacCartney Oct. 5, 1946, in Bellows Falls, Vt. 

He graduated from Wharton, The University of Pennsylvania. 

He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1942-46. 

He worked for HON Company as a sales manager from 1955-63. 

He worked as sales manager and manufacturers' representative for several other companies. 

He was a member of the Elks, Elks Chanters and Trinity Episcopal Church. 

He loved music and musical performances and wrote the musical "Great State of Trinity" for Trinity Episcopal Church. 

He was an accomplished pianist, performing in various locations and also teaching lessons.  William's hobbies included writing, recording music, tennis, golf and gardening.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara of Muscatine and a sister, Betty Ann Duval of Bronxville, N. Y.

 He was preceded in death by his parents.
