MOSCOW, Iowa — Thomas L. Hetzler, 61, of Moscow, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at his home.

The Rev. Jerry Phillips will officiate. Casketbearers will be Randy Mohnssen, Robert Crow, Fred Bodman, Matt Bodman, James Hafner, Lane Fryermuth and Robert Hetzler. Honorary casketbearers will be Ernie Peniston, Jim Logel, Rick Bodman, Michael Chitty, Fred Failyer, Bill Failyer and Angela Hetzler.

Burial will be at Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church.

A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Tom. Sympathy notes may be left at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Mr. Hetzler was born Dec. 22, 1947, in Muscatine, the son of Gerald A. and Dorothy L. Crow Hetzler. He married Patricia J. Failyer June 22, 1969, in Muscatine.

He worked as a computer technician at Muscatine Community College where he also taught engineering drawing and computer classes. He then worked for Stanley Consultants as a computer technician from 1996 until his retirement in 2008.

 He enjoyed drag racing with his father and son, the New York Yankees, camping and spending time on the river, hunting and fishing excursions with his father and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

 He will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia of Moscow; his children, Robert L. Hetzler and his special friend, Kaylin McGee of Hillsborough, N.C. and Angela L. Hetzler of Tampa, Fla.; his mother, Dorothy Hetzler of Muscatine and three grandchildren, Britny and Taran Hetzler, both of Muscatine, and Justen Vargas of Tampa, Fla.

 He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald in 2005 and his daughter, Stephanie in 2000.
