MUSCATINE, Iowa —Janet “Gailene” Adams, 55, of Muscatine, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Jeffrey S. Nichols – Garden Ridge Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Adams was born May 31, 1954, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Byrd E. “Bud” and Thelma Louise Estabrook Franks.  She married Michael Adams on Aug. 7, 1971, in Muscatine.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; sons, Ellis and wife, Rachel and Andrew and his girlfriend, Jenni Martinez, all of Muscatine; a daughter, Melissa Adams of Muscatine; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Steve and Mary Dahl of Muscatine, Kenny Franks and Mike Franks both of Letts; and sister-in-law, Barb Cochran of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Brittany and a brother, Jim.
