MUSCATINE, Iowa – Walter E. Fuller Jr., 84, of Muscatine, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at the All-American Care of Muscatine, formerly the Muscatine Care Center.
Everett Reinier will officiate the service.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Mr. Fuller was born Sept. 29, 1925, in Keswick, the son of Walter and Margaret Martin Fuller. He was adopted by William and Hazel Burdock.
He married Irene Montgomery Feb. 25, 1955, in Rock Island, Ill.
He was a carpenter and a construction inspector for the USDA for 16 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.
He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and former referee in basketball and umpire for softball and baseball. He loved horse racing.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Fuller of New Boston, Ill.; two sons, Bruce Fuller of New Boston, Tim Fuller and wife, Gail of Tawas, Mich.; two daughters, Diane Lee and husband, Darrel of Abondale, Colo., and Sue Townsley and husband, Chris of Lake Placid, Fla.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Leon Fuller of Mondovi, Wis.; and two sisters, Jessie McLeod of Kansas City, Mo., and Margaret Vols of Rock Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his adoptive parents, two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
