UPDATED Precincts around Muscatine have seen “steady traffic” of voters for the city election, volunteers said. Volunteer Denise Gaeta at Madison School – precincts 9 and 10 — said 130 votes had been calculated as of 3:15 p.m. Besides the hustle-and-bustle of students in the halls, Gaeta said this year’s election has been the steadiest she’d seen.

The first Madison School voter arrived at 7:10 a.m.

Precincts 3 and 4 had 146 votes as of 3:15 p.m., and precincts 7 and 8 had 136 as of the same time. The Muscatine School Administration Building on Mulberry was unable to provide numbers at that time, but volunteer Sue Thielmann said voting traffic was busy and successful.

“The more people vote, the better the system works,” Thielmann said.
