MUSCATINE, Iowa - Norman Bean, 45, was arrested Saturday night for reckless driving and assault with a dangerous weapon for his alleged role in a fight over a woman, according to Assistant Muscatine Police Chief Mike Scott.
Bean, 1712 Bryan Ave. in Muscatine, confronted Jeff Wurr of Atalissa at Muscatine’s Wal-Mart Supercenter, according to police.
Police said:
* The two men had a disagreement about a girlfriend.
* Wurr tried to leave but Bean chased him down the U.S. Highway 61 Bypass and struck Wurr’s vehicle with the one he was driving.
* Wurr called 911 near the intersection of Second Avenue and the Bypass to report Bean was chasing him, hitting his vehicle and driving aggressively.
Bean was stopped on Grandview Avenue and arrested. He posted $2,000 bail and was scheduled for an initial appearance at the Muscatine County Courthouse this morning.
