IOWA CITY, Iowa — Two men riding in a van stolen from Muscatine were arrested in Johnson County on drug and theft charges.
Sidney Darnell Upchurch, 21, of Chicago and Shango Jerry Johnson, 18, of Iowa City were arrested about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police stopped their van at the intersection of Highway 1 and Orchard in Iowa City.
Lt. Brett Talkington of the Muscatine Police Department said the van had been reported stolen Sunday from the Lamplight Inn Motel, 2107 Grandview Ave., Muscatine.
Talkington said the men will face no local charges.
Upchurch was charged in Johnson County with second-degree theft, a Class D felony, and misdemeanor operating while intoxicated.
Johnson was arrested on three separate drug related charges, including two felonies.
