Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, First Presbyterian Church, Wilton. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton and one hour prior to service, church.
WILTON, Iowa — Ruby F. Kaufmann, 83, of Wilton, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Unity Health Systems Hospital in Muscatine.
Memorials may be made to Wilton First Responders in her memory.

Serving as casketbearers will be Tricia Ford, Melissa Kissell, Bob Kaufmann, Brandon Kaufmann, Jacob Kaufmann, Jeremiah Kaufmann, John Kaufmann and Joseph Kaufmann. Honorary pallbearers will be Angela Kraklio, Heather Achor, Ron Ehresman, Ben Brown, Marcus Hora, Jim Kress, Albert Walton and Vernon Walton.
Interment will be at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, IA.
Mrs. Kaufmann was born April 11, 1925, to Howard and Lillian (Shadle) Whitmer in Cedar County. She married Freeman H. Kaufmann on Feb. 24, 1945, in Killeen, Texas.
She graduated from White Pigeon Country School in 1939 and the Wilton High School in 1943. Prior to her marriage she worked for Jim Loper at the Muscatine County Extension Service.
She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wilton. She was an active volunteer in her community. She enjoyed playing cards and shuffleboard, walking and visiting family. She and Freeman spent 26 winters in the south, most recently in Zephyrhills, Fla. Most of all, she loved being a wife, a mom and a grandma.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Freeman of Wilton; her sons: Harry and wife, Kathy Kaufmann of Moscow, Steve Kaufmann of Wilton and Jeff and wife, Vicki Kaufmann of Wilton,10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a brother, Donald and wife, Karen Whitmer of Reeds Spring, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Kaufmann; a daughter, Diane Kay Kaufmann; a grandson, Curtis Kaufmann; a sister; Dorothy Beaver; and brothers, Moses, Harold “Bud“, Hilbert “Hib“, Herbert “Hub” and James Whitmer.
