MUSCATINE, Iowa — Eight Muscatine homes will light up for a good cause during Muscatine’s third annual Holiday Home Tour: Hope for a Cure fundraiser from 2-6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6,
Daphne Donald of Muscatine and her mother, Dee Pulliam, also of Muscatine, founded the tour in honor of Donald’s son Ian, 20, who manages juvenille diabetes each day since being diagnosed with the condition at age 13.
The self-guided tour invites ticket-holders to come inside the homes of area residents who volunteer to share their holiday decor and donate their hospitality to the event.
Maps to the homes are provided with the tickets.
Proceeds from ticket sales are donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and people who purchase tickets before Dec. 6 will be entered into a drawing for a variety of door prizes including:
n A holiday gift basket
n A holiday rug from Carriage House Carpet One
n BeautiControl spa gift basket.
Admission for the tour is $10 and tickets are on sale now at the following locations:
n Carriage House Carpet One, 121 E. Second St.
n Pro Hair Designs Salon and Spa, 214 Chestnut St.
n The Hall Tree, 208 W. Second St.
