WILTON, Iowa — Harvey L. Owens, 66, of Wilton, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City.

Mr. Owens was born Feb. 19, 1942, the son of John and Elsie (Wasson) Owens in Muscatine. He married Amber Birkhofer Sept. 12, 1964, in Aledo, Ill.

He attended Wilton High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

He retired from Wendling Quarries, Moscow, in 2006. He later worked for the City of Wilton at the CRC.

He was a member of the Wilton American Legion Post No. 584 and the Harley Owners Group. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his daughters, Staci and husband, Robert Kirkman of Wilton, and Shelley and husband, Kevin Drake of Wilton; a son Steve and wife, Jane Owens of Wilton; four grandchildren; a sister, Sharon; and his brothers, Keith and Bryant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Scott; and his sister, Betty Moeller.
