Services: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14, United Methodist Church, Wilton. Visitation: 3-7 p.m., today, church, one hour prior to the service.
MOSCOW, Iowa — Robert D. Dykstra, 61, of Moscow, died on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at his home.
The Rev. Tom Zeleny will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Kathy Luethye.

Serving as casketbearers will be Jeff Dykstra, Greg Terry, Alan Terry, Tim Kasper, Rich Daniels, and Whoey Smith. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jim Qualls, Pete Anderson, Bob Bierman, Gene Taylor and Gae Nichols.
Mr. Dykstra was born Oct. 9, 1947, the son of James and Mary (Petersen) Dykstra, in Muscatine. He married Rita B. Taylor on Nov. 4, 1967, in Wilton.
He graduated from Wilton High School in 1965. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He was the director of safety and security at North Star Steel, Wilton, retiring due to his health in 2000.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wilton, Durant American Legion Post No. 430, former member of the Wilton First Responders, coordinator for Cedar and Muscatine County Farm Safety 4 Kids.
He enjoyed building and was always ready to start a project. He loved animals and farm sales. Above all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Interment will take place at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, where the Durant American Legion Post No. 430 will conduct military honors.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Rita of Moscow: his daughters, Kelly Garvin and husband, Gregg of Wilton, and Shannon Medina and husband, Carlos of Norfolk, Va.; a son, B.J. and wife, Sara Dykstra of Iowa City; five grandchildren, Taylor, Alexa, Gunner, Anthony and Sofia; a sister, Janet Catlin and husband, Erling Catlin of Silvis, Ill.; a brother, Denny Dykstra and wife, Linda of Sunbury, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Karen Jacobs and a brother, Jim Dykstra.
