WEST LIBERTY, Iowa —
Paul J. Gingerich, 83, of Lone Tree, formerly of West Liberty, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Mr. Gingerich was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Kalona, the son of Joe P. and Lula Stuztman Gingerich. He attended Fairview-Evergreen School in Kalona. He married Darlene Mae Foote March 9, 1947, in Tipton.
He farmed in the West Liberty area and later operated Gingerich Construction in West Liberty. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Liberty and a lifetime member of the West Liberty Country Club.
He is survived by two sons, Phil Gingerich and wife, Kathy, and Charles Gingerich and wife, Cindy, all of West Liberty; a daughter, Luanne Johnson and husband, Greg, of Riverside; six granchildren, Jason, Justin, Pat, Holly, Josh and Becky; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Dolan of Sigourney, Marge Gingerich of Kalona and Leona Boller of Kalona.; two brothers, Delmar Gingerich of McGregor and Don Gingerich of Stover, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Vesta Miller and Maretta Yoder.
