MUSCATINE, Iowa – Helen C. Klooster, 94, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at Unity Hospital.

The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Klooster was born on March 2, 1914, in Shannon City, the daughter of Joseph and Letha Brandstetter. Her first marriage was to Paul Ernst and he preceded her in death. She later married Tony Klooster in St. Joseph, Iowa. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of St. Mathias Church, and the Moose Lodge in Algona.

Survivors include a son, Bob Ernst and wife, Sandy, of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Jean Schroeder, Jeff Ernst, and JoAnne Terrill; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Lyle Brandstetter of Burlington; and two sisters, Eva Petersen and Neva Hauer, both of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a brother, Kenneth, and a sister, Winnie.
