SANFORD, Fla. – William O. ‘Bill’ Bevan, 76, of Sanford, Fla., died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the Florida Hospital in Orlando, Fla.

The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine, is in charge of the local arrangements.

Mr. Bevan was born on April 17, 1932, in Toronto, Canada, the son of Frederick and Pearl A. Smith Bevan. He married Lois Gray Weggen on Jan. 14, 1997, in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Bevan of Sanford, Fla.; three daughters, Margaret ‘Peggy’ Farrell and Willow Jackson, both of Orlando, Fla., and Robin Andre of Fredericksburg, Va.; three step-children, Katie Igler of Tallahassee, Fla., Ken Weggen of Muscatine, and Steven Shephard of Springhill, Fla.; three grandsons, Ryan of Mims, Fla., and Alec and Cori of Fredericksburg, Va.; seven step-grandchildren, Keith Weggen, Julie and Andrew Woodhouse, and Kendra Schaapveld; two great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Frederick Bevan of Whitby, Ontario, Canada; and one sister, Pearl Smith of Toronto, Canada.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marie Ouimet.
