TIPTON, Iowa — Martha Aaron Maxson, 93, formerly of Iowa City, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton, following a long illness.

Mrs. Maxson was born March 4, 1915 in Albany, Ky., the daughter of Lewis and Angie (Brown) Aaron. On March 6, 1964, she was united in marriage to Archie Maxson. He preceded her in death.

She worked for the Hoover Hotel in West Branch, Linley Nursing Home in Iowa City, and retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City after 28 years.

Survivors include two children: Carl (Linda) Luedeman of Kahoka, Mo., and Carolyn Lang of Tipton; two grandsons; three great-grandsons; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Lena Aaron Rohlf of Tipton and Evelyn Aaron Simonson of Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Lillian Thomson and Eva Bouschlicher; grandson Tim Lang; and a son-in-law, John C. Lang.
