DURANT, Iowa — Florence V. Blank, 97, of Durant, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Mrs. Blank was born March 30, 1911, the daughter of George and Alpha (McLain) Wathan in Cedar County, Iowa. She married Herbert Blank on Aug. 27, 1932, he preceded her in death in 1978.

She farmed with her husband in Muscatine County.

She enjoyed crocheting and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed visiting with friends and her neighbors.

Musical selections will be provided by organist Deb Mohr and vocalist Henry Bentley.

Serving as casket bearers will be Dennis Treimer, David Treimer, Rodney Treimer, LeAnne Blanchard, Mike Treimer and Daniel Treimer. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lynne Treimer, Doug Blanchard, William Blanchard, Georgia Blanchard, Kerry Stanley, Breanna Treimer, Jenna Treimer and August Treimer.

Interment will tbe at the Walcott Cemetery, Walcott, Iowa.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her lifelong friends and family, Dennis and Lynne Treimer of Tipton ,Iowa and their family, David Treimer of Bettendorf, Iowa, Rodney Treimer of Durant and his family and LeAnne and Doug Blanchard of Garner, Iowa and their family; and by her niece, nephews, cousins and many friends and wonderful neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Memorial donations may be made to Durant Ambulance Service or Cedar Manor Nursing Home in her memory.
