NICHOLS, Iowa — William Hutchinson, 86, of Nichols, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at the Pioneer Park Nursing Home following a short illness.

Per his wishes, he was cremated. . The Cremation Society of Central Iowa is handling arrangements.

Mr. Hutchinson was born April 28, 1921, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Charles and Josephine Reed Hutchinson. He married Josephine Archer on Feb. 24, 1946, in Fort Dodge.

He was an Army veteran of WWII. He wrote two books on genealogy on the Hutchinson and Archer family and enjoyed playing the guitar.

Survivors include his three daughters, Michelle Frickey and husband, Micheal of Nichols, Denise Hutchinson of Iowa City, and Patricia Lane and husband, Drew Lane of Olathe, Kan.; two sons, Joseph Hutchinson and wife, Cheryl Rogers, of Nichols and William Charles Hutchinson of Iowa City; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Josephine.
